Why such a high sodium goal by default?

I'm sure lots of people have asked this already but so many people ask generally about Sodium I couldn't find an answer.
My daily goal has a high default sodium setting - why is this? I'm eating hardly any sodium at all and not sure I should be putting salt on my veg just to increase it![;) ;)](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/wink.png)
Would be great if someone knows?
Thanks.

I think the makers of MFP set the defaults to the US RDA recommended amounts. Most people change all of those. The first thing I did was give myself more protein and fat with less carbs, lol.0

It's not high. Start eating lots of rice, eggs, cheese or chicken and you'll see it shoot up.0
