17,500 for fat vests

Skinny students will be wearing fat vests so they can "walk a mile" in their overweight peers' shoes. Maybe I'm a cynic but I find this a waste of tax dollars and that it won't exactly have the effect they are hoping for.

I have a problem with how those "fat suits" or vests distribute weight. Gaining weight doesn't happen overnight, and therefore there is always muscular adaptation in the individual gaining weight.
I know myself for example there is about a 30 pound range where I am every bit as capable and athletic at any weight in the range.
However, say I lose the 20 pound and you throw a suit on me, and it makes me awkward in a hurry.
I don't see these in anyway approximating "real life" weight issues.0 -
If they want to research weight prejudice, how about talking with fat people?0

Hmm, maybe they should just spend that money in teaching them to stay healthy instead...0
