Neeeeeeding motivation!

Okay, so here's my deal. I very infrequently use MFP to track my foods, exercises, & progress because other than very occasional cheat days, I keep myself disciplined without any help. But recently, I've been slipping. I lost a lot of drive, a lot of focus, & I can't seem to regain it.

I've been following Tim Ferriss' four-hour-body diet for nearly two months & I genuinely love it. It makes me feel clean, energized, & full, & I really respect it for that, but it hasn't delivered the total results it practically garantees. Per Tim's book, the diet works without exercise, but I disregard that note & DO workout 5-6 times a week. I also take a slew of vitamins, & drink a minimum of an entire gallon of water DAILY.

I've never been happy with my body, & I've been on this weight loss journey longer than I've been using MFP & I've lost nearly 50lbs. Although, I do know that as I get smaller, I get happier with my self image. Not that that isn't enough of a reason to stay on top of things, but I am human & I do get discouraged when all my hard work has little to no visible result.

I don't have a lot of encouragement at home from my boyfriend, but that's not because he isn't on my side, he just has the metabolism of a super human & has a lot less work to do to stay fit. I need someone(s) that I can either text message or email because of how infrequently I use this site. I haven't gone swimming in 12 years because I don't feel like I'm the "me" that I want people to see yet, but I wanted this summer to be the summer I reached that point. I have about 30lbs left to go before I'm where I want to be. Is anyone willing to help?

You are doing GREAT!! I too have periods of time when I am not motivated but... I just get right back on track. I have been maintaining +/- 2-3 lbs for over a year. I saw this quote and it helps.

Fake it till you make it. You can't sit around and wait for the motivation. You have to make the choice to start right now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Right now. Eat right and exercise whether you're motivated or not and the motivation will follow.
