Calorie intake and healthiness during weight loss and diet routines

Of course, I do not want to endanger my program of health while losing weight. I have read your comments on 1000 calorie diet and note your concerns. I have read quite a bit from dieticians and doctors and most all agree that 1200 should be the minimum calorie figure while losing weight. For me, if I go over my present calorie goal of 1000 a day, I always weigh more the next time I weigh, and that is on a high fiber, vegan diet with some meat thrown in here and there, and the daily 3 X a week cardio/strength exercising. I don't think I can exercise that much more in order to go to a 1200 calorie diet and lose the weight I should. Am I missing something here. When I was on a low carb diet, I could lose some weight but gained it back if I ate too many carbs. It looks like I do the same if I take in too many calories. I'm open to truth and facts here. My daughter-in-law lose from 158 to 125 on a six weeks diet of 800 calories and rigorous walking and said she never had more energy than she ever did and she looks good. Let me hear.

Warrior guy, You are going to need to reverse diet. What has happened is you have damaged you metabolism and you need to repair it, think of it as a muscle. So you will have to slowly increase your calories over time. You will gain some weight but no more than 5lbs and it will mostly be from water retention and food weight. BUT you will lose weight in the end as your metabolism kicks into gear. I have seen it work time and time again and can help you do it if you are willing to give it a chance.
  • Thanks Chris...starting today, I plan to go up to 1200 calories. Any ideas will be appreciated...love your helpful and helping attitude.
