Totally read that as "prepare cake according to directions on box and bake in a saucepan" and couldn't work out why you'd bake it in a saucepan.

Are you not allowed to share recipes unless you source the original creator?

Because that would never occur to me to do.

Really? I suppose you don't find plagiarizing or violating ip laws wrong?

At least on other sites it's terms for a perma ban for trying to pass off recipes as your own by not citing the source

There's no suggestion that the person made up the recipe herself, just that she thought it would be a good recipe to share.

I don't even know where I got half my recipes from - the bolognaise sauce recipe I'm making tonight? I don't know where it came from. The banana bread recipe I use? No idea, it's just how I make it. Presumably at some point they were in a book or on a website that I googled.

Edit: Also that recipe is all over a number of free recipe sharing sites. How do you know gtice99 is the original creator of that recipe and not Linda N who shared the recipe on Food.com? Or Nancy Carney on Duncan Hines? Or the unnamed people on Cooks.com and allrecipes.com?

Oh really, where are the quotes indicating they are not their own words, or the link to the recipe they copied from? Regardless the OP copied and pasted it from somewhere, all it takes is a link to attribute where they got it from

So if I find a recipe from a site, make it, my friend wants the recipe, I write down the recipe, give it to her I'm doing something wrong because I did not write on the recipe card where it came from??
    Don't think so..
