URGENT!!!! NEED HELP

Hi guys, I have a job interview on friday for the prison and i have to undergo a fitness test, its all fine about from the speed agility run. I basically have to run half a mile on a treadmill in four minutes, now im generally quite healthy because i go to fitness classes but running IS NOT my thing. I have been going to gym and prscticing on treadmill but can never quite push myself as my chest is sore and legs are sore. I was wondering if anyone could give me so tips as to how to get over the wall and complete it.
Thanks in advance

Keep trying. It's the only solution.

Well before fitness tests at school I used to wear weights on my ankles for a week or so before the test. Then at the very moment of the test I would take them off and I seemed to fly through the air going much faster than I could have before. If it was for a job I would prolly step it up to being leg weights and weights around my torso. And I would try to do as much walking and cardio as possible. It also will likely help if you psych yourself up before the test (like imagine you re chasing down a prisoner or something unrelated like running from an angry rhino) to release adrenaline. And be hydrated before the test.

Run a mile in 4 minutes? That's pretty serious.

HIIT and some lower body strength training. Speed won't come as quickly as you want it to, but nothign has made me faster than lifting has.

Are you doing the fitness test on Friday as well? I'm not sure what can really be done in a week. Take it easy this week so as to not burn yourself out. Then, on Friday, if that's when the test is, just go balls to the wall during the test. So, a 1/2 mile in 4 minutes, would be an 8 minute mile which is a 7.5 mph pace, so I say crank the machine to 7.7 or so and go for it.
