I have just started the 16:8 IF on Monday, I think its too good to be true. I only have a bit of a tough time during the morning time when im suppose to be having "breakfast" but i guess that usual. Other than that i feel great! I am doing IF for major weight loss, i am trying to lose 50lbs+ just want to hear any success stories for people that have tried this and has worked for them.

Well some people it works for. Other people well the hunger sensation can be so much that in their feeding window they still go over calorie limit and still gain weight.

Yeah i know what you mean, actually in my case i actually find myself eating a lot less. and I don't feel as hungry though out the day. Reason being why i said i feel like its too good to be true! lol i probably less than 1500 calories (2 meals and a snack).

I've started doing a 22:2 as I don't seem to have much problem holding off until dinner time as long as I drink plenty of water throughout the day. My aim is to do this Mon - Fri and 16:8 at weekends.

I did the 5:2 diet from Jan-May with good success but then stopped and put a lot of it back on. I can't seem to get back into that diet though as I can't face the 500cal days anymore.

So I'm trying this method and keeping my cals between 1200 - 1600 to see how it goes.

    Good luck.

I have tried it before, only for a week, cause I ended up on an unexpected trip. Well I loved it. I am also sure I lost my 1 lb that week too, but I ate all the foods on my trip and didn't look back. I would love to start it up again.

The main reason why it did work great was cause I wasn't that hungry in that 8 hour window. It was pretty easy to stick to my calorie allotment of 1520 daily. I am not a breakfast person for the most part, so that was easy. Going to bed a tiny bit hungry was hard, but I was not starving, so it was okay.

I have been doing 16:8 for 3 weeks now, and I am down 13 lbs. I was pleasantly surprised that I am not missing the AM breakfast. Every once in awhile it will cross my mind but it isn't because I am actually hungry, it is in my head. I think some people that want to try this really need to give it 30 days before they give up because they think they are hungry.

I will add, I also work out in the AM, doing heavy lifting and some HIIT and I have not seen this impede my progress in the gym. I am still increasing weight and each week setting a new PR on most of my compound lifts. I know I will eventually hit a wall, but it will not be because of doing 16:8.

I used to do 16:8, and then realised I could go longer, so I now do 22:2 on most days, and a couple of 24 hour fasts a week. Or if I've had a really huge binge, something like 3,000 calories over, I'll do a 48-hour fast. It really depends on my schedule, because I sometimes have big social gatherings, which compel me to tweak my feasting/fasting windows. I find that this sustainable lifestyle choice works well for me. All I know is that IF gradually became so darn easy to adapt to, and I have lost weight rapidly, without exercise. If weight loss is all you're concerned with, it could work. But of course, there are reports on how IF may not benefit women as much as men, and some people tend to binge while attempting IF, because they become preoccupied with fasting and feeding hours, et cetera. So it all depends on you. Try it out for yourself.

I have been doing 16:8 and low carb with cheat day on weekend and have lost 55lb in about a year. I need to lose about 30 more to be in the healthy BMI range, so since the holidays are over, I am back on it!
