Losing Weight in Different Places?

I'm down 40 pounds (hooray!) and my legs are still almost as big as they were when I started. I can tell my muscles in my thighs are more toned, which is a great thing, and they're definitely stronger, but it's just so frustrating. Really just looking for words of encouragement here, because I'm just staring at my legs, waiting for them to get smaller.

If only we could spot reduce, right?

Have you been taking measurements at all? I would suggest doing that. Measure your calves and thighs, log it, and then do it again regularly (at least monthly.) It's easier to see improvements in problem areas that way. A quarter inch or half inch difference isn't easy to see with your eyes but is measurable with tape. My stomach is the area that is slowest to budge for me and the tape measure has been what is keeping me from pulling my hair out over it

I've lost less than 3" from my thighs in over a year! Everywhere else, I consistently lose .5" at the very least every month. I guess we hold onto weight in certain places.

With me, it's my waist to hips that is stubborn. My arms and legs are fairly slim now, and my upper torso is slim. (You can see my ribs a bit!). But my belly (at the level of my navel) has only gone down about 2" in the last four months, and my hips only about an inch. However, this week I started noticing that my pants (three different pairs) keep sliding down over my bum, so clearly I have lost some fat in my lower back, too. It frustrates me, but I know I'm on the right track, and if I keep eating at a deficit, that fat's gotta go sometime.
