OldGuyInTheClub here. I lost about 35lbs between January and May of this year on Medifast. I got down to a reasonable 150lbs or so by following their plan and by rigorously keeping track of what I eat. It was a hoot to see the spreadsheet graph plummet and my joints are grateful for the lightened load.
I've been trying to maintain while adding calories back but the pounds are slowly sliding up - I've added back a shade under 10 lbs over 5 months while sticking to the eating patterns I had when I lost weight. I'm still eating in the 1200-1300 cal/day region and going for walks but the scale doesn't lie.
So I thought to kickstart things by trying MFP. I'd like to get back to eating ~2100 calories/day and expending enough to maintain in the mid-150lbs. I'm hopeful that the tool will help me get there.
