Garmin Vivofit AND a GPS watch?

I use a Garmin 220 for running. Just got a Vivofit for general movement tracking during the day. I wore both on a run today and after 6 miles I had obviously blown by the steps goal for the day! lol So, do wear both or skip the Vivofit during intentional exercise? I also weight lift and I can use it in the gym with the heart rate monitor, but running is a whole different deal.
