Ballet Beautiful for absolute beginners?

So I've been looking at TONS of workout DVD's and one that looks like fun and has amazing results is ballet beautiful. I'm sure a lot of women would love to have the ideal "ballet body" and I suppose I'm no different. I've got thick legs (ones my mother used to call dancer's legs. I just think that's a nice way of saying thick legs lol) and I'm pretty thick actually all around.
I attempted a youtube version of one of her lessons and I hurt for days and quit like halfway through. Now, I feel a bit more motivated as I'm eating a lot better, making plans to shop and make healthy meals throughout the week so I'm not tempted to eat out. Also, my husband and I have worked out a deal where I workout for 30 mins of whatever workout I want and I tell him what I did. I suppose it's a way to keep me accountable,
Is this workout ok for beginners? I think I could power through a lesson (granted, I might take breaks or modify as I'm horribly out of shape.) Any results from this that MFP users can attest to? I'd really like any feedback.
Also, if there is another DVD workout someone thinks is the bee's knee's, I'm open to suggestions

I can't comment on the DVD, but I do want to encourage you to go out and take a class if you are new to exercising on a regular basis, and there is a reasonably priced gym close by.
Why?
Because starting out it is very difficult to be consistent and get your form correct. Also, being accountable to your bank balance rather than a forgiving husband will make you go even if you don't feel like it.
I speak from my experience when saying this and even now, 5 years after I started, and 4 since meeting my goal, if I find I am losing inspiration I sign up for a class to get me back on track- nothing like having spent the money to make me go!
This time I am trying Zumba, never done it before, am completely uncoordinated and sweaty, and 30 years older than everyone else, but I just laugh and try my hardest. Yes I was sore and discouraged ( a bit) after the first class but much better after the 2nd. If I was doing it at home I wouldn't have done the 2nd class, I would have gone back to something I was familiar with.
Cheers, h0
