I was happy the other night when someone noticed I had lost some weight. I am pretty big and I haven't lost much so I didn't think it was noticeable and it made me feel good.
I am at my mom's and we have been talking about all kinds of things. I told her I am counting calories and will talk to a dietician. She wanted to know more about myfitnesspal. I don't think she really has weight to lose, but I am going to set an account up for her.
So, then my mom asked how long I have been doing it and if I have lost anything. I just saw her last month so I have only lost a couple lbs since then. But, it did bring me back to the reality that i still have a long way to go.

Depending what your size is...The initial weight loss for a larger person is hard to tell, it will take a little time to notice it physically, but you can tell by your clothes and undies that you are in fact losing weight....it's normal keep it up they/you will start to notice0

Aah but you have started the journey! congrats.
Remember mums usually see you as a whole- who you are and have been all mixed together, so she won't recognize the changes as fast.
Keep up the good work, one day she might just walk past you in the street because you no longer fit her image of you.
Cheers, h.

I don't know how fat you are, but I had lost quite a bit before people started noticing and quite a bit more before they started exclaiming and going on and on.
If you're fat enough, I promise you that before the journey is over, people will have spent a great deal of time talking about your body and asking how you did it. You may even get sick of it.0 -
20lbs+ for me before anything was noticed. I was over 240lbs. I'd told no one what I was doing, no even SO. It took someone else commenting for him to realise what the diff was with me. Granted he's with me day in day out so I understood.
When you are that size you sort of shrink proportionately initially..smaller version but same shape so people aren't certain what the difference is. They'll say..you're looking well or have you had a haircut lol.
It was nice when people eventually noticed but it wasn't essential to keep me going. It'll come though so enjoy that thought. Rinse n repeat regardless.0 -
