Polar FT4 Stopped Working :(

I purchased a Polar FT4 a little over two years ago and for the last six months it's been very temperamental on reading my heart rate. Sometimes it won't detect anything and other times it says it's at 200+. I've changed the battery, cleaned the band as well as the device that plugs into the band. This morning it just won't work at all and says my heart rate is 0. Has anyone else had these problems? Is there something I can fix and/or replace or do I need to purchase a whole new HRM?

Have you replaced both batteries? Mine did that when the battery in the transmitter (not the watch) needed to be replaced.

I'm assuming you only replaced the battery in the watch and the one in the transmitter also needs to be replaced. it's tough to open so I brought it to one of the local jewelry shops and had them replace it for me. It still has issues now and then but it's working much better than it was.

I didn't even know/think there was one in the transmitter, I'll bring it in to the jewelers today! Thanks for the help!!

I have the same monitor and I have this issue every time my chest strap needs to be tightened. Try tightening it up to right before it would get uncomfortable. (And make sure you changed both the chest strap battery and the watch battery.)

You're welcome! A battery place will be able to do it for you too. I bet $$ this will fix your issue.
