Getting serious about my life!

Hi, I'm Samantha. I've used the MFP app on and off for almost 4 years now, which is about as long as my weight loss journey/struggle has lasted. Originally I started around 200-210 lbs, but I don't know for sure because I didn't own a scale at the time, and didn't purchase one until a couple of weeks in. My goal weight was (and has been ever since) 170 lbs. I'm a tall girl with a large frame, so I feel that 170 lbs is an ideal, healthy weight for my body. I got down to 172.8 lbs through working out daily and eating low calories (too few calories, actually). I got frustrated when I plateaued at that weight and decided that my journey was "done" and went back to my old habits. Ever since then I've gained and lost, gained and lost, gained and lost. About 2 months ago I got up to 249.2 lbs, continued to lose and gain, but overall lost 4.2 lbs during that month. Then, last month I got so frustrated, hopeless, depressed; I could sense that my fiance was considering ending our relationship, even though he didn't say anything to me. He's a few inches shorter than me and weighs less even than my goal weight, so I can understand him thinking we don't really look good together with me having gained so much. In the last year alone, (Sept-Sept) I had gained 35 lbs. I accepted that I can't control myself when it comes to junk food, and I now consider myself to be an addict. I know there are people on here who don't believe food addictions are real, but for me, it's real. I looked up Food Addicts Anonymous, and started following their food plan on October 11th, 2014. I'm now about a month in, and have lost 15 lbs. Most importantly, though, I'm not being controlled by food any more. I eat 3 meals and 1 snack a day, and don't even think about food in between. I work in a daycare where I serve food to the children 3 times a day, and even during those times I have no interest or desire to eat their food. Previously, my mouth would water and I would always hope there might be an extra muffin or pizza (etc.) for myself. Now, I couldn't care less. I've modified the plan slightly to better suit me, and I don't go to meetings or have a sponsor or anything like that. I just follow the plan, and my life has improved greatly in the past month. I can feel my fiance relaxing and not distancing himself from me any more, I go to bed every night feeling proud of myself, and I wake up each morning feeling happy and energized. I enjoy the food that I eat, and I am starting to enjoy what I see when I look in the mirror. I have a long road ahead of me, but I'm confident that I can reach my goal and stay there if I continue along this path, which I will.
