So here's the deal. I'm forever trying something new when it comes to exercising. "Zumba" is by far my exercise of choice. With that being said, I have enough exercise equipment to make me a gym treadmill, Bowflex, Elliptical, Stationary bike, Chin up machine that I need to sell b/c its to huge to set up, Several Wii exercise games, and DvD'S etc list goes on and on.
BUT!!!!! I WANT AND NEED AND DESIRE TO TRY IINSANITY ONE MORE TIME AND STICK WITH IT. UGHHHH NEED WILL POWER!!! :noway:

I can stick to any other exercise but this dag on Insanity be making me mad...I think after I get through with whatever I day I am on with insanity the fear of what the next day will be is what keeps me from doing it. lol I be so dag on exhausted after I finish. Haven't made it pass day 2 but today I will NO MATTER WHAT....SHE IS GOING TO CONQUER MR SHAUN T!0

Just decide you want to do it and go with it Modify moves that you need to. I think a big reason why people quit is because they feel pressured to keep up with the intensity of the people in the DVD - not true. Do what you can. Dial down the intensity to where you are pushing yourself, but not killing yourself and end up giving up on yourself.
You CAN do it! :flowerforyou:
ETA - I do find that yelling at Shaun T (at the TV) as if he can hear my cursing helps tremendously! :laugh:0 -
I sooooo can relate to your post. I think it's mental and knowing that Zumba produces just as big, well bigger numbers than Insanity and you're having fun while doing it. How about start again and do as much of each video you can do and keep going on to the next day. Each day I do it I tell myself that I'm not doing it the next day only to push on to the next day. What if you complete the Rockin Body program as a prep for Insanity? If you want to start over I will do it with you. What if you join an Insanity support group on here?0

I actually really like yo yo exercising. P90X has always been the one that I do for a while, stop because it's hard and then start again. I don't mind though because I'm a believer of muscle confusion when it comes to exercise. Gotta keep those suckers on their toes.0

I'm not sure how many calories yo-yo exercising burns. It probably depends on how advanced you are and what sorts of tricks you know. I'm not good enough at this thing to even count it as a single calorie burned. What is a P90X? I haven't ever seen that brand. I think I have a Duncan one at home somewhere.0

Yo-Yo Exercsising....I seen that on America's Got Talent.0

NO MATTER WHAT....SHE IS GOING TO CONQUER MR SHAUN T!
I have Insanity, but I haven't even tried it yet. I am scared, I am however looking forward to his T25 program that comes out this next month. 25 minutes a day, and looks more tolerable. I think if I can conquer that, I will do Insanity.0 -

It's like Insanity without any 30 second rest breaks. He designed it to get the intensity of a 35-50 minute Insanity type workout packed into 25 minutes. I wouldn't get T25 thinking it will be easier.0 -
I love yo yo exercising. I buy DVD after DVD, do them a while, give them away, buy another one. Since its such a habit I seek out programs on VHS so I can only pay a couple bucks for them. I have at least 7 versions of Leslie Sanson and really, if you have one, you have them all.0

Re: Leslie Sansone ...So not true .... lots of variety "for Leslie Sansone." It's not night & day differences ....they are all low impact & no choreography .... no dancing .... no weight training (really) ...... there are smaller differences. Billy Blanks "would all be the same" by that measure too.... no dancing or strength training for him either. There are over 100 Leslie DVDs - perhaps you just got unlucky enough to get very similar ones.
I like cardio much more than strength training .... I keep a spreadsheet that "keeps me honest." I log exercise by category, that way I get my strength training in.0 -
Yes I got the similar Leslie Sansone DVD - the ones for the abs. They are the only ones with music worth listening to. I've done practically all of her's but only kept a few, they are quite alike.0

Thanks Guys and Gals for the advice and comments. I'm going to give it all I GOT!0

Why would you try almost 100 DVDs if you thought they were the same?
Walk Away the Pounds (the Abs ones) series .... the music on these VHS ones are so quiet (??).0 -
I find that attempting to do routines that I know I won't stick to is counterproductive and unnecessary. I also find that I achieve the best results when my exercises correlates with a particular fitness goal rather than doing something just because it burns XXX calories or promises me abs in a week or something. I have no problems with these DVDs and I've done a couple myself...but I did them with specific fitness goals in mind that I wanted to achieve...that keeps motivated.0
