1200 treat meal at weekend

I have stuck to 1200 calorie diet for the past 6 days and lost 2lb in the first week. However we had a take away last night, only treat (I want to be able to allow one per week) and now I feel like my efforts have been wasted as I weighed my self this morning and I have it straight back on is this normal and have I just ruined my whole weeks efforts?

With only 15 pounds to lose, you more than likely have your goals set to aggressively anyway (should be about 1/2 pound a week). Log this and move on, you'll be fine.0

It's most likely sodium, which can cause a huge amount of water retention. Give it a few days and most (if not all) of it will be gone. Don't stress about it--Consider this instead: To gain 2 pounds, you would have had to eat 7000 calories above your maintenance calories! I highly doubt that you could have managed that with one treat meal.
If you're going to make treat meals a weekly thing, you just need to keep in mind that you will retain water after a high-sodium restaurant meal, and don't stress over the fluctuations that come with that!0 -
a 1lb loss is a 3,500 kcal deficit. Unless you ate 7,000 calories OVER maintenance in one meal, it will not be 2lb of fat you've "gained" .... more likely it'll be water weight which will go again over the next couple of days....

Thankyou for your replies, it was a kebab so prob very high in salt?? Good to know you can't put that much weight on from one meal no matter how bad it is. I'm new to this so trying to get my head round the deficit, calories, maintenance thing....0

If it was a kebab, it's most likely water weight. Kebabs are known to be notoriously high in sodium, with the average serving containing around 6 grams of salt, which is around the usual RDA for the average person. Do drink plenty of water over the next few days, and weigh yourself then.0

I am 25, 5ft6/7 and started at 9st7lbs then dropped to 9st5lb before the kebab I weighed 8st10 before having my daughter so I want to get back down to that weight again. I've started on the water already so hope to shift it again.0

Yeah 9st7 is roughly 133lbs. I just feel like I have that little bit to loose because I was smaller before and know that I would feel more confident in my self if I got back to how I was...0

Well come on!! A response saying 'okay' is hardly worth typing is it. It adds nothing to the thread. Fred I'm not going to stoop that low. Oh dear.
Thankyou to everyone else who answered my questions.0 -

Thanks jaquelynny. I think I lost very quickly in the first few days that I kept weighing my self to check it actually happened. I will take photos, what a great idea, I suppose it's easier to see the difference that way.0
