I don't often travel with food...but if I did I suppose it would be some kind of nut. Almonds or something. They keep well.0

Raw almonds, bananas, apples0

String cheese, almost any fruit, reduced fat wheat thins, carrots, chips & salsa (depending on where you are, I can take it to work, but not on a road trip), trail mix (watch the portions!), deli meat. There are a lot of good options if you plan for them!0

Definitely hard boiled eggs. Or no-sodium turkey. I don't like carrying fruit around, it's sticky and annoying.0

"Kind" makes all kind of low-sugar snack bars that usually have between 140-220 calories per bar. That usually gets me along for another 2-3 hours without adding unbalanced calories. I also usually keep a bag of pistachios or raw almonds around most times.
Those Kind bars drive me nuts (ha). I do eat them because they're easy but so many calories for so little. It's like 3 bites of food.

because they're nutrient dense, if you want to stretch chewing out for long time with minimal calories then eat celery.

Quest bars. I love Kind bars too.0

Hollywood snacks! They are little boxes with grapes, cheddar cheese blocks, apple slices, and pretzels. (You can get these at places like Sheetz and Wawa too, super convenient)
I also like Fig bars, because they are whole wheat and filled with fruit things. (I get them on Boxed.com for super cheap in bulk; you can $20 off of your first order with the coupon code: NZ4OZ)
Annie's Organic Whole Wheat Bunny snacks are good too. (I get them on Boxed.com for super cheap in bulk; you can $20 off of your first order with the coupon code: NZ4OZ)
I love love love Think Thin's fruit and nut bars. So yum. (I buy them on ebay through Target, where they are cheap cheap cheap and can get free shipping with like three boxes)
Cheese sticks. The dollar store sells the Sargento ones like 4 for $1, and i can't get enough.
Frozen fruit, right from the bag. Also found at the dollar store, $1 per bag. (Just check the ingredient list and make sure they don't add sugar)
My work has these little containers with carrot sticks and celery in them, those are good too.
Also, Mrs. May's Cran Blueberry crunches are so filling and full of yum. (I also buy these at work)
These are the best easy snack I have ever tried, some are less processed than others, but all of them are good for you!0 -
Nuts and fruit. Anything else is messy or goes nasty.0

My favorite is Greek yogurt, but that's processed.
My favorite non-processed is fruit of any kind that's easily eaten on the go. Nuts are also good.
But it really depends on the purpose--if it's for a meal I'd be sure to include some protein, probably hard boiled eggs or smoked salmon or a nice packed container for a complete lunch like I bring to work. I'd also be sure to include vegetables--in addition to carrots and celery, I really like cucumbers and kohlrabi raw, as well as broccoli and cauliflower.0 -
Hardboiled eggs, grapes, clementines or orange (peel and bag em at home), banana, nuts, pepita/pumpkin seeds, dried apricots, dried cherries, raisins, string cheese, babybel cheese, edamame, sugar snap peas, granola, cucumber slices, raw asparagus, celery w/peanut butter, red bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, turkey.0
