Headache after changing diet?

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if it is normal to get a headache when changing your diet drastically... I dramatically reduced my sugar/refined carb intake 2 days ago (was eating WAY to much of these and not enough protein and good fats), and I've been having this low-grade headache for about 24 hours now. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thank you,

Elia

I notice I have headaches when I drop below approx 150g of carbs. Headaches and digestive issues are not uncommon when macronutrients change significantly.

I just don't go below 150g of carbs.

It could be due to low blood sugar. I know I get terrible headaches when I don't eat my meals on time.

Don't the keto people call that "carb flu" or something?

It's like withdrawal. You cut the sugar and your body still wants it. It'll be fine in about a week, but I doubt the headache will last that long.

Yes, common when you cut carbs. It's your body switching from sugar to fat burning, and it goes away in a week or two. Drink water, and get plenty of salt at least for the first few days. You'll be glad you stuck with it if you do, you'll feel so much better when you come out the other side than you ever did eating high carb.

    Thank you - it's very encouraging! :)
