Do workout times matter?

My random question: Do you lose more weight by working out in the morning or the evening?
I read an article in the past that said Morning workouts are for toning and evening workouts are for weight loss. I really need to tone and lose but I am more worried about the losing aspect right now so I was wondering if anyone out there in MFP world would be able to clarify.

Assuming everything else is equal... no, time of workout won't impact weight loss.0

It doesn't matter, disregard that. Work out whenever you have time, or whenever you are feeling most up to it.0 -
Nope. Workout, eat at a calorie deficit = weight loss.
Just like if you ate all your calories for the day in the morning or evening it makes no difference, deficit = loss.0 -
It matters little when you burn your calories. The only impact I can see is energy level at the time of exercising. Some people are more focused and motivated in the morning leading to more successful workouts while others aren't. A calorie burned is a calorie burned. There have been reports about exercising in a fasting mode so that your body has to get its energy from fat stores but that doesn't have much to do with the time of day except if you exercise in the early morning prior to breakfast, but I don't put much stock in that.0

Thanks all! I always wondered if there were truth behind that so I needed to ask! I appreciate your answers and knowledge on the topic.0
