Hi there,
I do about an hour of HIgh intensity interval training (group setting) everyday, I also usually go for a 2-5km run per day. Does anyone know if this amount of exercise warrants a "high protein diet" I want to increase my protein to gain muscle and burn fat but don't want to consume too much protein that I put on weight. I am 145lbs and want to be about 135lbs.

Weight gain is due to burning fewer calories than you ingest, protein or not. Protein recommendations vary but .8-1 gram per pound of lean bodyweight is generally considered to be a good goal in order to retain muscle during weight loss.
  • Thanks a lot! Jemhh ..I have read a lot of recommendations that say for active women about 46-70g protein a day is more then enough, using that calculation I think I would be consuming way more, (about 120g) is that ok? I just don't quite understand what's "right"
