Clif bars etc

I am just starting a Diet of 2lbs weight loss a week. I am working on getting a small home gym together but in the meantime am drastically changing my diet. I lost about 40 pounds last year and was eating small meals with pure protein plus protein shakes (20$ for 28 servings at sams club) and clif bars $20 for a 24 pack at sams club) in between. Essentially my question is if you think clif bars with a protein shake is an effective "meal replacement" or not and if there is a more cost effective one. Once I get my gym going I hope to burn about 500 calories/day 6 days a week as well if that makes a difference.
Thanks
Tim

I'd first ask what your stats are to see if 2lbs a week is even reasonable.
And re: Clif bars... you'll get sick of them. Don't look for "meal replacements," but rather, you should learn how to eat properly. Losing weight doesn't require anything "drastic," and your short-lived weight loss with the Clif bar and protein shake thing should be indicative of its future success, or lack thereof.0 -
Yes, I do think that it's a good meal replacement. I, personally, have a salad of three cups for lunch with an ensure every day and it's plenty satisfying. As long as you eat the bar slowly and sip your drink slowly, you'll find it surprisingly filling. Be sure to take a minimum of 20 minutes to eat every meal and you'll need way less than you think. G'luck!0
