I am 44 tomorrow and am 5ft3 and currently 135lbs. Have completed level 1 on 30 day shred and usually combine this with leslie sansone 4 fast miles. Want to try something else to shake up my routine a bit. Any suggestions? Will keep at the 30 d's but like to try another routine I can do from home.

Les Mills Combat. That was my first program and it was amazing and inspired me to workout more. A fun way to switch it up, in my opinion.

FITNESS BLENDER - seriously, they have awesome free routines on youtube and tons of them so you can always switch it up. They also have 8 week programmes that are cheaper than most fitness DVDs.

I love the Brazil Butt Lift from beachbody....was my first DVD program....I still use it now and then....I also have p90x, Chalean Extreme for the weights, and I'm on week three of the 21 Day Fix....all great exercise programs....

I love Ellen Barrett's routines, a few are on youtube right now. Try looking up "Burn and Firm pilates" and/or "super slimdown pilates yoga blend" on youtube. The first of these gets my heart rate up pretty good (as a beginner), the second doesn't get my heart rate up but is some great toning and I always feel great after doing it. I did it yesterday and today I have a slight ache in many of my muscles. She has numerous other pilates/dance/yoga dvds for sale on amazon. I really enjoy her instruction and its great cardio and toning at the same time for many of her routines.

I second this. It's my favorite program I've done.

When I first started exercising regularly, I used some programs by The Firm. They were enjoyable, and I feel they got me off to a good start so I could work up to the programs I do now. The programs I used combined cardio and light weights.

Ellen Barrett is great (she also has a Self: Biniki Ready Fast dvd which is a good beginner level workout), so is the Les Mills Combat (altho I've only done that at a gym & not the DVD). I'll add Kelly Coffey-Meyer to the mix, she has a bunch of DVDs out so you'll have to read up on them (try collagevideo.com) to see which you like best - they're mixes of cardio and weights kind of like Jillian (but better IMO), but the coolest part is that they have 'premixes' where the main routines are chopped up in different ways. i.e. all the cardio segments only, all the weights segments only, upper body weights + cardio etc etc. So you get a ton of flexibility in one DVD.
