I was an active member of a really small, local theatre, run out of a little building in the center of my New England town that used to be a one room school house. The woman who ran the programs was ~60 yrs old, and tough as nails. She spent most of her life working in Harlem! Spending 3-25 hrs there a week, I learned so much from her. She loved us all like her own children. She taught us valuable lessons re:acting and re:being a good person (more importantly). Definitely the most formative figure in my childhood besides my parents!
