Absolutely not. The possibility of injury vs any possible benefit you get from it isn't worth it. Not at all.

Speaking from experience, I have two stents in my heart that are possibly related to heavy lifting, but I will never know for sure. Is it worth it now, heck no.

Those sweet stents are probably because you have a bad heart, and it was going to happen if you were 310 and doing ho ho curls, or 140 and squatting 225.

A couple of weeks ago some guy tried to argue that no one should cycle in clipless shoes because he once heard of someone riding clipless who crashed, their body ended up 10' away from their bike, but that their shoe (with foot still inside it) were still clipped to the bike. Did it happen? Maybe. Is that a reasonable fear for the average cyclist? No way.

That guy was lying so hard. It was hilarious.

I just do my first rep at failure. That way I can be done with my workouts in 5 min

So now all heavy lifting is bad for you?
I am advised against it by my cardiologist, I had lifted for years and had upped weights a few days before, then the day after a lift day, I was in my kitchen and reached up, had severe chest pain, threw up & felt like I was gonna pass out. My dh took me to tge ER, pain would come & go & it took the dr's three days to diagnose that my circumflex artery dissected. I'm 90% convinced that it was due to heavy lifting.
It is very rare, but does happen to fit people. Do a search for Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection. I have been tested for other underlying conditions and the rheumatologist that I saw found nothing. Now, it's just my new norm and is not worth happening again. This is basically what happened. o55s05q35jqx.jpg

ok, so you had a failure in your heart, and you want to blame lifting heavy? If the shoe fits, go for it, but you're barking up the wrong caboose.
