Hi!

I just bought a Quinton Clubtrack TM and I love it. I am a very busy and very tired mom of two little boys under 5, so thats why I bought this. I was doing 30 DS, but I just found myself to tired for all the jumping around and stuff since I can't get my exercise in until the boys are in bed for the night.

I just want to lose weight and tone the muscle I already have. I am 5'2 and 200lbs so I don't want to gain any muscle. Can I obtain this goal with a treadmill? Can anyone give me any tips for getting the most out of my treadmill exercise?

Thank you.

download Zombies! Run app to your phone - change your settings to treadmill - and make it a game

or C25K if you're not into games and zombies

but lifting heavy weights is your best bet for toning

I am just a little bit taller and about the same weight and the treadmill is the machine i use the most. i usually set the gradient on mine to at least ten and walk briskly for an hour and i burn 350-400 cals, i use a heart rate monitor, not what the machine says, as my gym machines are old. and not the most reliable ( even the gym guy told me that lol )
I am sure if you are eating to a deficit and getting on that treadmill regularly you will notice a difference in not time :)
I also have just started lifting so I can have a tighter physique as i lose the weight.

I do treadmill HIIT. Warm up at 2.5 walking for 5 mins, then jog/run at 6 for 30 sec, walk on 3.5 for 1min 30 sec, then run again. All for 20 mins. Oh, and on a 5% inline level. I lost 5-6 lbs in a month doing this. It starts out slow but you know it works. Try it!

You will lose weight with a caloric deficit. You will retain muscle with the exercise. C25k is a great app for the treadmill (*only one I've used).
