any advice on how to reverse or prevent worsening of this hump.
its genetic, my mother has it really bad.
i have it and it has gotten better since i started exercising but i wanted to know if there are any other things i can do to stop from becoming a hunch back.
its a curvature on the base of the neck, mine is all bone curvature no tissue build up yet.

An excellent stretch for restoring posture is lay on your back on a swiss ball. Use as small a ball as you can tolerate.. either 55 or 45 cm. Eventually try doing it with a foam roller for an even deeper stretch.
If you sleep on your back, avoid using a big pillow, since it juts your head forward.
The best way to have good posture.. is to practice good posture all day long. That takes constant diligence.

Progress is usually (very) slow with this condition, but exercise can certainly help.0 -
