    If it proves to be too much, worst case just start with the bar. There is no problem with starting too light and building yourself up. No point in starting with something you struggle with. ;)

    edit: If your gym has 10lb bumper plates you could start the deadlift with jsut the bar and those, as it will at least give you the property height for pulling.
