Add Food > My Foods won't sort by name

I can't post in the help forum, and I can't find my specific problem addressed, so I'm posting here.
When adding a food to my diary, Add Food > My Foods shows all the foods I created, and the sort order will change depending the selection "Name" or "Default." But "Name" does not list the foods by name, but in some other order that seems random. When "Name" is selected, Add Foods > Recent and Add Foods > Frequent sort correctly by name, but My Foods doesn't.
I use My Foods exclusively because the inability to edit Recent makes that category difficult to use. The category Frequent is also painful to use because deleting something permanently hides it so that it will lead to confusion when you forget to check your list of deletes in the event you can't find something. But now that my My Foods has grown, it's getting as difficult to use as Recent.

Here's a solution. Find an unused back date in your diary, like October 1st, and enter all your custom My Foods into that date. This will make them appear in your Recent tab. Then you can alphabetically sort them.0

I gave you a good solution. If you don't like the diary, try Sparkpeople.0

In any case, I would hope that people can respond constructively, without flaming or snark.

I have had this issue for over a year now. I asked for a fix a long time ago and was ignored. I stopped using MFP for 6 months because of this annoyance. I just started using it again to see if the issue had been resolved. I even tried deleting all of my custom meals. Issue still remains. I wouldn't count on this being fixed since it has been over a year. The fact this doesn't work is ridiculous. Sorting a database table field in alphabetical order is pretty basic. Please up channel this complaint. There is no good reason this cannot be fixed.0

Im not sure why this option is not available on the website, but it is available to sort alphabetically a-z, z-a,or most recent in the android app0
