Hamstring Tendonitis??

At km 7 in to a 13K run this morning, I developed a rather intense pain at the back of my leg in the bend of my knee. I hobbled home for the remaining 6K :( After doing some preliminary interest research, I'm thinking it may be hamstring tendonitis.

Any other suggestions??

I've been trying to stay off it - I've had ice on and off it - but it still hurts. I will be pissed if 4 months in to running, I have to stop :(

Here's a list of causes for pain in that area:

For a proper diagnosis, you'll probably need to see a sports doctor, orthopedist, or physiotherapist.
In the mean time, avoid activities that cause pain.
  • Great resource - thanks :) Now I'm even more confused

Have you been having any calf issues on that side? A strained calf can trick you sometimes

See an orthopedic doctor. I had issues with my hamstring years ago and it never healed properly. Not something you want to mess with for sure!
  • No calf issues, and no issues before today. The majority of the day spent with ice on it has helped, no more "pain", but I can still feel it.
If not better in a few days will definitely make an appointment with my doctor.
