I like the XLR8R podcast (which is also on iTunes), and I like to find different DJs/artists from that. Remixes of your favorite songs are also a good thing to have--Bird Peterson, ODESZA, and xxxchange are three who have done a lot that I've liked.

The "Today's Alternative" station on Pandora is my go-to for running. Stuff from The Black Keys, Future Islands, MGMT, Phantogram - if I time my footfalls to the beat it keeps me in the 150-160 heart range.

I created a playlist of songs for working out. I love Country, R&B, and Rap songs.

Volbeat, Gogol Bordello and Rancid all seem to be great move along music for me. I just need to move while exercising and not while preparing food lol

I like creating playlists on Spotify of upbeat music that gets me pumped up and ready to go. I have found some good songs to add to my playlists by searching another user called PopSugar that has some good playlists that you can follow or choose songs to add to your playlist. I like a lot of Xtina, Shakira, Pitbull, Missy Elliot, Nickelback and whatever makes me feel like dancing.

Depends on what kind of music you like , but house music is great in general :
    personally I would suggest
    1. Bossa Nova Baby - Elvis presley
    2. runaway baby - Bruno mars
    3. Sexy and I know it
    4. It's my life
    5. Let's get it started
    6. Pump it up
    7. this is how we do it
    8. the Power
    9. Michael Jackson - most songs ect.

Lol. I'm glad someone knows what I'm talking about! I was a total kandi kid in the Toronto/Buffalo/Ohio/PA scenes for the better part of a decade between 20 - 30 years old. I've since become way too busy in life to hit up parties. My last one was over two years ago. :(

Good stuff... also Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Alabama 3 (not to be confused with the country group Alabama)

I'm a dj. I can link you to my stuff if you like.
  • Rockmyrun is great for cardio. You pick the genre and Bpm and djs have put together playlists of different lengths. The ones that are shorter than an hour are free.
