To say that I've been through this cycle too many times to count would be an understatement. I'm young and hate that something as eating terribly and being overweight is holding me back.

I've been here and multiple times, even once getting down to 160 lbs -- ten pounds shy of my ultimate goal. I always somehow lose sight of what I really want though.

Any tips on how to ensure that motivation sticks?

One thing that you could try to do is set a reward for when you reach certain goals Maybe for every 2 or 3 pounds that you lose, you treat yourself to something small that you've been wanting. And then when you hit your 10 pound weight lose goal, you treat yourself to something that you've been really wanting?

Or you can share your progress here and we can do our best to help keep you in check :)

I stay motivated by trying to help others and constantly setting new goals, when I reached my goal weight I decided to gain muscle mass and set other fitness goals. i am also part of a facebook motivation group that helps a ton as well

Add friends and watch what they're doing. Watching how much other people do is inspiring for me. It also gives me good ideas of things to try. Encouraging others also reminds us to encourage ourselves,

But, really, you only get healthy and/or lose weight if it is something you really want.
