Is it ok to get the bulk of my calories before dinner? I live in a two family household that shares mealtime. But they are picky about what they will eat i.e.no healthy food. What I get stuck with processed chicken nuggets and fries, and other junk. Even the vegetables are cooked in butter. So I was thinking about trying to eat all my calories, or most of them, between breakfast and dinner. Will that be bad?

Try it and find out. I eat most of my calories for breakfast and lunch.
You might find it works perfectly. You might find that, even eating more at other meals, you're still hungry for the one you're trying to reduce. This varies by person. The only way to know is to try it.0 -
Meal timing has no impact on weight loss. Eat whenever you want. Or cook dinner for yourself, if that's an option.0

It sounds like a perfect plan to me. Congratulations on taking charge of your own food choices.
You could leave yourself some room in your budget for a snack at night if you get hungry. Or you could start cooking for yourself at dinner so you can eat with everyone else. Even if someone else is monopolizing the stove you should be able to make yourself a salad or grab a burner for a few minutes to cook some eggs or a stirfry.
I do the opposite: very little food during the day and a pretty large dinner with the family. That works well for me. Timing really doesn't matter as long as you have something you can stick with.0 -
Ok, thanks. I was thinking about eating breakfast and lunch, and then eat a bunch of snacks like fruit and /or yogurt in between if I get hungry. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't hurt my workouts. I am currently doing my strength in the evening, which works well so far because it's a great stress reliever and tires me out. But I woke up this morning with so much energy I'm not used to, so I did a quick workout then, and am going to try to get in the habit of doing it in the morning instead.0
