This is a great meal to freeze.

Ingredients :

2kg lean mince
500g lentils
10 large oinions
1kg tomatoes
2 x beef stock cubes
250g water

Instructions

Fry finely diced onions in their own juice, add mince and mix then the finely diced tomato and stock and water. Add cooked lentils and allow to simmer for half an hour. Finally add herbs and spices to taste. This should make 5kgs of bolognese. We are a family of 4 so I then divide it out into 12 containers of 400g each (100g serving). I make sure to put 400g of mixture in each container and top it off with the left over sauce afterwards. You could of course add some additional meat sauce to this but it would obviously push up the calorie content and in my view spoils the taste.. Our kids like it and always ask for more :)

This would normally be served with Spaghetti but could be served with mash, potatos, bread or even pot noodles :)

The kids love to wipe their bowls clean with a piece of bread

Nice. I'm going to sneak some grated veggies like carrots, mushrooms or zucchini in it as well. Great idea to freeze it.
