calories per day

my calorie per day is less than 1200 am male 6 ft tall 67 yrs old stared at 323 9/11 lost 53 lbs weigh and post every thing do 45 mins stat. bike 3 times a wk water jogging 45 min 2 times a day feel good will low cals hurt health

    Others will disagree with me, but at 270 pounds you still have a lot of reserves, so as long as you're getting adequate nutrition (both macro and micro nutrients) you can get by for a while longer. Biggest issue is going to be muscle wastage -- I'd recommend some weight work in addition to the cardio you're doing.

    thanks been recovering for 16 mos from bad total knee replacement so couldn't do any thing going to do weights next wk long road back but its a got to

    Your TDEE is 3168 (moderate exercise 3-5 hours/week)
    25% deficit is 2376

    If you have serious health issues which requires you to lose as much as possible immediately (at the direction of a doctor), then 1200 might be appropriate. Otherwise, there is no need to be miserable. Eating 1800 should result in more than 2 pounds per week loss.

    new to all this i don't go hungry hope am logging food right log is public if any one has time to look thanks for help

    It looks like you are eating good foods and logging very well. I would just eat a bit more. 1200 is the minimum recommended for a woman and men need more.

    thanks I try to get it right I am retired i like to cook and do all meals so I know what gos in them
