So I'm very overweight and have currently lost 11.5lbs. I've just started a 30 day plank challenge which goes up in increments. I'm only on day 2 which is 20 seconds but I could have done more than this (probably only a few seconds but I'm thinking every second counts) My question is if I can manage more should I do it or should I stick to what is says on the challenge and follow the programme and hopefully get to 5 minutes?

Follow the program. If you want to do more, try it twice a day!

I second that, follow the program. Just because it is easy to start with, if the progression in difficulty is built in, it will get difficult soon enough.

Yep, follow the program. Better to start slow and steady than to hurt yourself. I am doing the same. I am also doing a pushup challenge and a squat challenge.

Follow the program. It's tempting to try to do more when you feel like you're not being pushed enough, but trust me, the day will come when it may take all you have to finish a day on that program.

On the other end of it, if you get to a point where the program progresses faster than you are able to keep up, repeat the day you are on until you can move to the next day. Good luck to you!

Thanks everyone, I will stick to the programme as suggested. I'm fully expecting it to get tough and am hoping I can make it to the end :)
