The name is Jake. I'm 24. I used to be addicted to eating, but I have gotten myself under control. I am currently starting my 4th week of my lifestyle change. I am about 30 pounds overweight. I live an active lifestyle outside of my job, but struggle with the sedentary nature of my workplace. It makes losing weight a bit difficult. Although I have a dream job. Other obstacles include chronic pain (back and sciatic nerve related pain) , shin splints, jumper's knee, plantar fasciitis. and psoriasis. All of these things improve as my strength improves, and the weight comes off.

Former basketball player (who hopes to regain his court dominance), and avid runner... as of recently (beginning of March)

Changes I've made:
1. Drinking plenty of water
2. Taking a daily Multivitamin
3. Working out 7 days per week. Weights 3 days (circuit training), Cardio 3 days, and vigorous hiking/14er climbing on Sundays.
4. Eating 6 small meals as opposed to 2 large ones.
5. Eating 5-6 servings of vegetables and 2 servings of fruit.
6. Watching my caloric intakes and having them set to losing a pound per week.
7. Walking for a full hour on my lunch hour in the heart of Downtown Denver at a brisk pace.
8. Understanding the problems with crash dieting and why I should be eating this way all of the time.
9. Infallible desire to become the healthy, active person that strive to be.

I have lost a total of 0 pounds since I've changed my ways, however, I am not concerned. As I'm sure I have built a lot of muscle, and have added a lot of hydration to my body.

I could definitely benefit from having a few more friends.

I am training for a marathon. I want to prove the skeptics wrong.
