Does anyone feel the need to do this?

I do this sometimes but other times I just end up mixing the wrong combinations as long as its in my calorie goal.

I know its supposed to help food digest better.

    Quick food combining lesson

    Fruits by themselves

    Meats can go with veggies

    Carbs can go with veggies

Legumes can go with all but fruit.

    Water inbetween meals only.

Just don't mix milk based products with hard alcohol. That's my only rule.

They say that your body produces certain intestinal juices to digest different types of food and if you combine them properly it digests a lot faster.

I don't do true white Russians, no vodka with milk. Bailey's doesn't make the cut as hard alcohol though. ;)

In this scenario, wouldn't a dieter want to digest food slower to feel full longer?

Also fruits cannot be combined with carbs? What is fruit made of? *mind blown*

but in all seriousness, OP. This is nonsense. No carbs with meats?

    Bolognese
    Pot Pie
Sandwiches (Almost all of them incl. hamburgers)
    Schnitzel
    Cutlets
    Beef Wellington
    Tacos
    Burritos
    Quesedillas

I could go on and on ..

Your rules are not welcome here.

It's not a new idea, it's been around for ages. And it is bunk.

Do you really think our bodies, which developed over thousands of years of eating what they could get and are designed to withstand some pretty crazy harsh conditions, are that fussy about the combos with which they're filled? Think of the people all over the world, the different climates, conditions, food availabilities... Bodies are not that fussy. They can't afford to be.

Quick question on this: Are we going with biological definitions of fruits, or Legal/Tax definitions.

This is important because I need to know if I can eat tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, eggplant, capers, okra, peppers, avacados, olives and others with meat or not (they're all fruit)

Bonus Crap: A banana is a berry, and a strawberry is not.

    Meat = Protein.
Your body needs protein, carbs & fat. You should get all three. Most people stay satisfied longer if you have all three. i.e. If you eat mostly carbs, you will be hungry faster than if you had protein and fat with it.

All due respect, but this sounds insane. If eating were this complicated, the human race would have died out long ago.

Also assuming the theory is true (which I take leave to doubt) why is digesting faster an advantage? Why would speed matter? Is there some detriment to food taking a bit longer to digest? As long as your body can use it who cares whether it takes 3 hours or 6 hours?
