You gotta start somewhere!

This is probably the 24542542122nd time I have started a diet. When I was 21, I went from 220 to 140 and gradually gained it all back over the course of 10 years. So here, I am now... at 32, a couple medical issues and two kids later, at 216 (starting weight was 226 on 10/21), hoping to get down to 170ish. I probably will lose more, but for now, 170 would be awesome!

Almost all of the times I have started, I never gave 100%. I half way did it. I guess it's right when they say something has to click and this time it has. I am going to do it this time and I am going to keep it off!

At any rate, I am 2 days shy of being on my diet for a month and 10 lbs down. I already feel so much better. I am eating better, I am exercising, drinking water - all the things I should have been doing all along!! The pants I just bought a couple weeks ago, are already feeling loose. When I restarted on 10/21, my goal was 10 lbs by Christmas. So, I have already made it. Hoping to do another 10 by Christmas. I know it's just 10 lbs and a lot of people have lost a whole hell of a lot more, but you gotta start somewhere, right?

If anyone is looking for some weight loss buddies, friend me! I can always use some motivation! :)

Just wanted to comment on your great progress so far! Indeed, keep it up! The holidays should by no means derail you, so another 10lbs. by Christmas is a great goal.

My only advice would be to not consider yourself "on a diet". That immediately sends a message to your brain that 1) you are depriving yourself, and 2) that this is temporary. Both of those lines of thinking generally lead to failure. So, you are NOT on a diet - you are changing yourself to be the person you want to be. This is a life-long journey, one that will take many twists and turns and your goals will change dramatically along the way. Good luck!
