For those of you who own game systems and use them to work out, I'm wondering what your favorite programs are, and why.

I have an XBox 360 and a PS3 and enjoy using EA Sports Active 2 (PS3) and Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012 for the XBox. I like them both because I'm a tech junkie, and they provide me with quick at-home workouts that I can change up depending on how I feel.

    XBox 360 kinect:

Your Shape FE: 2012 <- has a variety of workouts, so that I don't have to do the same thing all the time
EA Sports Active 2.0 <- I love the programs in this and I love how it adds a little resistance training mixed in with the cardio
Dance Central 2 <- Just plain fun

I agree with the Xbox kinnect games! SO fun :)

I like the "Your Shape" series myself. And when I want some extra intensity I up the ante old school by doing as many of the series with hand weights (light ones though- sweat works up quickly with those little devils. Like 3 - 8 lbs)

    Happy Kinnecting!

    Nike+Kinect for Xbox 360.

I don't use it anymore, but for 4 months, I used it for strength training. When I started, I was a complete newbie, unable to do a push-up and finding 10lb dumbells heavy. Over time, I progressed from "easy" all the way to "intense" mode using the Quickstart portion of the program (so that I could focus strictly on weight training as I already had cardio covered).

By the end, I was able to use 25lb dumbells (for single arm exercises like wood chops and rows) and 50 lbs of dumbells (for exercises like deadlifts and chest presses), and could do multiple sets of push-ups, planks, and modified planks. At that point, I moved away from using the program because it wasn't introducing anything new, and I knew that in order to progress further, I'd need to switch to barbell work.

Still, I think it is excellent training software for a serious workout, and you can definitely progress on it for a good while. You can use it for everything or pick the specific type of training you want.

I tried this one (borrowed a copy from my sister), and it looks great, but I don't have enough space in my TV room for it to effectively track me in all the exercises. I'll keep it in mind if I redecorate and get myself more space.

I like the boot camp in YS:FE 2012 - that can get pretty intense on it's own. Gotta try it with some weight after I get used to it.
