I have a garmin forerunner 10 for my running, but now that i am more committed to the gym and weight lifting, should i get the Polar FT4 sports watch? Is it accurate for weight lifting. I hate how MFP tells me that 38 minutes of strength training is only 134 calories. I feel like Ive been working so much harder than 134 calories worth!! Can anyone recommend this or another way of getting a more accurate calorie burn?

No. There are a good dozen or so threads in this forum on the topic so it should be fairly easy to find the various reasons why it would be a waste of money.0 -
I would like to know the answer to this too W-ninja. I use my garmin forerunner 110 to track my heart rate during all workouts. The calorie burn it gives seems very high. I dont' trust it. I would like to have a clear picture of calories in/out. I track all my food so I think I have a pretty good number for calories in, but really don't know how many calories I burn in a day. I've looked at all the sites and have some numbers written down of what my BMR, TDEE and such are supposed to be.
My experience has been that if I eat more than 1200 calories a day consistently I don't lose weight. My BMR is supposed to be 1543. I use that as my high range for days when I just really feel hungry. My TDEE is supposedly 2354. That's a lot of food for me. Eating at that amount got me fat.
Would a better fitness tracker give an accurate answer for calories burned? I'd love to know and would buy it for sure.0
