So I have been considering buying a fitbit or a HRM. However, I am torn between which one I should get! Does anyone have any opinions on which one they like better?

Polar FT7 I love mine
Do you feel like it is accurate?0 -
Love my fitbit flex. My review of it. http://nursewithdragontattoo.blogspot.com/2013/05/to-flex-or-not-to-flex-getting-fitbit.html
I love the fitbit website and the fact if links with MFP. I love competing with friends. Helps get me motivated.0 -
I have a polar FT4 and it is awesome. I have had it for about a year now and i feel that its very accurate and keeps me right on track for calories burned. I bought it through amazon and actually had a problem with the chest strap about a month ago. I sent it back to polar and within a week, they sent me a new one. They have a year and a half or two year warranty i believe. Very good product.0

im not sure you can say any one is more accurate than another. does anyone know the exact formula that it takes to burn a calorie?
i know i have the polar ft7 and its readings are about 50% of what the machines say i am doing0 -
I have both. A polar ft7 and love the fact it runs off my heart rate. When I have both the hrm and the fitbit on for a workout there is a minimal difference in calories burnt. The hrm is good for gauging fitness but if your wanting to just get your calories reasonably accurate a fitibit would do the trick just as well. Hope this helps.
On a side note: I had a fitbit ultra and lost it. I wrote to fitbit asking then to delete my account as I would not be able to get another for a while. they said if I had receipts they would sell me a fitibit one for half price. I told them I had moved twice and lost my receipts and because of the country I am in they sent me a brand new fitbit one for free!!! Amazing service0 -
Technically have both, although my husband gave my FitBit a "swimming lesson" in our washing machine, so it's dead now.
HRM is more helpful for me, but it depends on your activity levels and goals. Want to generally move more? FitBit. Want to [more] accurately capture your calorie burn in workouts? HRM. I have a Polar FT4 and it's phenomenal. I use electrode gel with it and wash it in the sink with cold water and a little handsoap after each use. I had a Garmin Forerunner with HRM cheststrap and it frequently gave readings that indicated that my heart was exploding. Useless.0 -
It depends on what you want to track and how accurately. I have a Polar FT60 for my cardio workouts but I wear my Fitbit One all day to track daily activity. I love them both. The Fitbit reading during my cardio is only slightly lower than my HRM so if you could only get one, I would probably recommend the Fitbit for tracking overall activity.0
