This year is my first year preparing a Thanksgiving meal. I have always helped my mom and grandma, but they usually have everything under control. And it's not that I can't cook, I definitely know my way around a kitchen. The biggest thing is that my husband has been stationed overseas for 2 years and hasn't had a homemade Thanksgiving meal since long before then, so I want to make this year perfect. I'm good with the fixings (potatoes, stuffing, veggies, all that) but I am needing advice on where to look for good turkey and pumpkin pie recipes. The internet is full of them but I want to make sure I find the best!

allrecipes.com has lots and the thing I like about that site is the recipes are well reviewed. I always read the comments section to see what people thought of the recipes or tweaks they might have made. Taste of Home's website is another good one because all their stuff tends to be reader submitted and well tested by their test kitchen. There are several other good recipe sites too but if I give you a bunch you'll just be right back to square one. I'd start with All Recipes. Happy Thanksgiving!

Foodnetwork.com, foodwishes.blogspot.com, bonappet.com are some of my faves.

The Food Network is running a lot I mean a lot of Thanksgiving meal prep shows right now. The Chew on abc just did about a week of Thanksgiving prep ideas. Don't forget Rachael Ray too.

I have used the following for years. I did not brine the turkey last year and no one noticed. So if you have the time and frig space do it. I you don't, then don't worry about it. Good luck! Enjoy having your husband home for the holiday. Definitely something to be thankful for.
