Punching bag works wonders or lifting weights while grunting loudly.

this would actually be a great idea except for the rabid dogs around the corner that aren't fenced in lol

That will be an even better exercise that includes running jogging sprinting and jumping fences

I tried the punching bag. It's great. Highly recommended if you have anger management issues.

don't have anger issues i don't think. just a TON of pent up anger/frustration and a punching bag sounds wonderful tbh

years ago, my doctor told me to walk when i was stressed. so i did, and was amazed how a nice long walk calmed me down.

although whomping the holy hell out of the twaddlenocks who are stressing you (low impact for you, at least), apparently HR frowns on that behavior.

punching bag is satisfying... my buddy breaks out 10 burpees or so. (not exactly low impact).

I do the internal stairs in our building - not much impact if you're otherwise healthy, but YMMV with joint issues.

(of course - bummer about the stress and rabid dogs. hrumph. not fun)

Sorry to hear about your emotional turmoil.

Walking, running, biking or go and learn how to meditate. I have not done it it apparently it works to release stress.

I second the yoga/pilates idea, but only if you can quiet your mind enough to focus just on that. If not, I find swimming shuts my brain up simply by virtue of the fact that I can't hear anything going on around me and am forced to concentrate on not dying.

Pound out some pushups. Then sit down and find out why you are stressed, how you are going to deal with it, and how you are going to go through the action of actually dealing with it.

I like the punching bag/heavy bag. It's fun and you don't have to spend a long time at it before your energy is depleted. But if you get really into it...it's like a total body workout!

But when I'm mad/stressed...long walks on the beach/neighborhood. Somehow a change of scenery really helped me.
