Hi everyone, so i've been exercising lightly (mostly at home) but my diet wise is still almost the same.. I noticed that i did not lose any weight at all and instead gained like 2 kg.. I look at the mirror and it looks the same but people have commented that i've lost weight.

Is it possible to weigh heavier than what you look?

    Yup

But people also say what they think you want to hear

  • Thanks for the help people! I just found a measuring tape and i noticed i lost 3-4cm off my waist! Wow! I was pretty upset whenever i stepped up the scale as i was expecting to lose weight  But i was wondering, isn't it better if my weight dropped so my bmi would not be overweight?

Yes, it is possible...someone who is lean and muscular can weigh more than someone who is "skinny" and look better for it. Example...my buddy and I are the same height...he weighs 150 Lbs soaking wet and he's around 15% BF. I'm about 185 and 16-17% BF....I weigh more largely because I have more muscle than he does.

That said, I would question as to this being the case here...this takes time...doesn't happen with just a few weeks of "light" workouts.

Also, 2 Kg is well within the realm of natural body weight fluctuations. I can gain or lose 2 Kg overnight. You need more data points to know what you're really trending. It's possible that you actually have lost some weight...but maybe you're retaining some water or have more waste in your system than your last weigh in or whatever...you need more data points for a proper analysis.
