So like most on here, I had a negative self image, always wanted to crack jokes about my weight before others could. So Jan 1st 2014 started to get serious, quit smoking and start logging food. Around March 15th I started really hitting the exercise and counting calories.

Starting weight was 250 ( ish )
Current Weight 200 ( ish )
Goal Weight - Unknown maybe 190, but dont want to look like Matthew Mccaughney in Dallas Buyers Club, we we shall see.

My whole life has changed. I am always active, hate sitting around. I run at least 20 miles a week, been doing T25 program religiously since March, going to switch to Insanity tonight. My goal is to have a six pack Before next summer. Not sure it will happen. I dont eat clean, but I do almost always have a deficit.

Anywho, I guess its time to post pics. UGH ( I never realized the anxiety that happens when you are about to post pics ) UFFDAH

Great job on the loss, but are you lifting weights at all?

Hornsby - just starting to get into the core lifts. Squats, bench, deads, blah blah. Goal was to go from lazy to active then build up from there.

I am actually thinking of skipping insanity and just do weights and use running as the cardio. Thoughts?

I would skip Insanity and focus on moving heavy things. Sprinkle some cardio in throughout the week.

Also, I did what you did basically. I lost 75lbs doing nothing but cardio and I WISH I would have started lifting heavy a lot sooner.

I have been hearing that more and more. No better time than to start now.

Would you recommend a program that is easy to follow at first? Hate to step in front of weights and have a brain fart

I would look up a Stronglifts 5x5 program. I actually like Ice Cream Fitness, but there are a ton out there.

I'm not doubting you :) Just saw your workout plan and the fact that you don't want to look sickly like MM in Dallas Buyer's Club. Lifting heavy will help with that. You have done a great job, but it's time for "phase 2".

I started last night. Feels strange not doing any cardio at all following a starter 5x5 program ( at home) then will jump into the Ice Cream one at my gym in a few weeks. Want to work on movements before I do the work in public

    Thanks!
