Hi everyone.
As a 31 year old woman trying to get pregnant I am facing several issues. Over the last three years I have consistently weighed 145 pounds. Despite working out three times a week with cardio and strength training and an ok diet, I cannot lose weight. Any time I eat wheat products I bloat to the point I have to undo my pants, Within hours the selling goes down again.
I had gluten and lactose intolerance tests done and both came back negative. I recently got over a spell of hyperthyroidism in April but even then I wasn't losing weight, now I just don't know what to do. All I can think of is increasing my exercise to 30 minutes daily, making my portions smaller and eliminating gluten. I know that 30% of people become hypothyroid after an episode of hyperthyroidism.
Bottom line is I haven't retested my thyroid levels yet, as I was told by my endocrinologist to wait until mid June to confirm my thyroid levels. In the mean time I am not sure what can help. I am frustrated and sick of having a bloated looking stomach, the rest of my body is toned with lean muscle but no matter what I do my lower stomach is loose and bloated.
Any suggestions of natural thyroid normalizing foods or supplements that are safe to take while pregnant or while trying to get pregnant. I just want these last ten pounds to go away! Thanks for your advice.
