Not feeling the soreness.

I've recently started back to the gym after doing very limited physical exercise for quite a while. Normally, the start of a new routine leaves me sore the next day or two, but for some reason I'm not feeling any soreness after my workouts the following days. Any ideas as to why this could be? I'm doing both cardio and a little weight lifting 5 days a week and I definitely feel the burn while I'm working out, but I never get sore. Sorry if this is a silly question, but it seems weird to me and almost a little less satisfying when I don't get sore the next day. Am I not pushing myself hard enough or is this a pretty normal thing (I definitely feel like I'm pushing myself when I'm working out)?

Could just be your body is still used to the movements you are doing depending how long it's been since you last exercised. Soreness isn't always a sign of a good workout.

Thanks for the links. I felt kind of silly asking this, but it just seemed really unusual for my body. Good to know it can be normal.

Yeah it definitely can be normal- I get the same thing with my legs. When I used to be a gym-freak I would always work on my legs and bum (because for some reason I became obsessed with lifting the most on the leg press!). I've just started going back to the gym, I'm lifting around 10kg less on the leg press than I used to but my legs don't get as achy.

Everything else does though. Currently crouched over a desk nursing my ab muscles at the moment!

Hah, that's how it usually is for me! My legs rarely, if ever, get sore. My arms and abs normally kill me though :p
