With American Thanksgiving right around the corner we know its time to start baking mashed Cauliflower, Cauliflower (pumpkin) pie and pizza for the little ones. This year I thought it would be good to add some other healthy alternatives using kale. Dearest people of mpf, please share your holiday Kale recipes.

I think that would actually work. It might require some sort of binding agent to get the kale to stick to the turkey.0 -

Spaghetti Squash and Kale gratin would make a great side-dish. This was gobbled up by my family so it passes the "ewwww" test.

Bless you for enjoying Kale, but this just crushed my soul a little.0 -
Here is my tried and true kale recipe...the only way to enjoy it!
1. Take kale out of produce bag.
2. Don't bother washing it. Unless you eat clean. Then you might want to wash it.
3. Have trash can sitting out for next step.
4. Throw kale in trash.
5. Enjoy other food instead.-1 -
I tried deep-fried kale not too long ago. I can't get the timing right, though, it burns very quickly...0

I like bacon wrapped scallops on a bed of kale. I've found the kale is a perfect tool for soaking up all the bacon grease. Don't even have to wash the dishes afterwards. Just discard the kale.

All to our own tastes I guess, odus. It is pan-fried Kale so I swear it does not chew like rubber.0

What? Eat the kale!
Then lick the plate.
Then ask for more scallops.0 -

These sound good too me. I'd probably want to mix in a little grated cheese before cooking the patties, just to make them a little more special for TG.

I'd rather get my carbs in the form of pumpkin pie and ice cream.

Sounds good, but gimme a straw for the bacon grease!0 -

You know, you could fit 5 more pieces of bacon in there, easily, if you got rid of the green leafy goop.

The bacon grease was drizzled on the turkey!

Get out.
i see that you're an internet bully.
i offer my brilliant idea to adhere kale to a skinless boiled turkey and you try to verbally escort me out.
you, sir, are mean.

Give Thanksgiving an ethnic twist. Fry cauliflower wrapped in kale for mushy taquitos, or a kale cauliflower mash hidden inside a wonton wrapper for a disappointing surprise.0

So in that case all food is ethnic food. So that would be a redundant statement would it not? I'm confused that you're confused about me being confused.0

It depends...is it a Mexican flauta or some other Hispanic flauta?

I tried cooking with kale for the first time tonight. I made a risotto with chicken, bacon, finely chopped broccoli, and shredded curly kale. I'm not a big fan of it to be honest, but it's something I'll probably use occasionally to add some more greenery into a meal. Might try it in a vegetable soup sometime.0

If I were going to add something to the dictionary it would be "googie" which I use to describe those disgusting chewy hard bits found in spongy processed chicken (e.g., nuggets, patties). For the sake of this thread we could use googie to describe the unblended bits of cauliflower in faux mashed potatoes.
