Does anyone have advice how to count calories for home made food? I use fresh ingredients so it is difficult to calculate. Thanks

If it is a recipe that I will make/eat again, I'll use the recipe builder (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/recipe/box) to calculate the calories. Basically, you weigh/measure all of the ingredients for the recipe and enter them into the recipe builder. You then weigh the final cooked meal and either enter the weight as the servings or divide that number by how many servings you want it to be.

Example: Final total recipe weighs 550g. You can either enter it as 5 servings, each weighing 110g, or enter it as 550 servings and enter the weight of your portion.

The 'recipe' subtab on the Food tab allows you to paste a recipe from online or make your own with your own ingredients. You just add your own ingredients and their measurements and then note how many servings it makes and then you'll be able to add it to your food diary.

I agree with the other posters, weigh out your ingredients on the recipe tab, divide out portions and boom, you know your calories.
