What is a good meal replacement mix?

I like those Carnation breakfast essentials. I usually take one package, cup of milk, some ice cubes and banana and throw it in my magic bullet and have that as I head out the door to work.

It is expensive though, 10 packages for 8 bucks. I would like something I could buy in bulk, maybe a tub of of something I am not familiar with, is there something someone else uses they could recommend?

I don't think they sell anything cheaper than 10 for $8, at least nothing that's any good.

Most meal replacements are closer to $2/serving.

Garden of Life RAW Meal. Tons of protein, fiber, vitamins, enzymes, probiotics, and other good stuff, from raw food sources. It's a bit pricey, but mixed with milk, or a milk alternative, it makes a great meal. I would add a bit of coconut oil for fat and PB2 for some additional flavor.

Ha! I wouldn't call any of them horrific, but some are more bland than others. I keep PB2 on hand for any shake I don't find flavorful enough. That mixed with the RAW chocolate is pretty decent.

These can come packaged in individual servings. It might be worth investigating your local health and vitamin shops to see if any sell the individual servings individually, so you can try before you invest in a big tub.

What is PB2? Sound advice. There is a shop next to my gym, I will check them out.

When you mentioned Carnation breakfast essentials, I assumed you meant breakfast.

Either way, a good protein shake is the knocker's knickers when it comes to a good quality git er dun breakfast.

and PB2 is dried, de-fatted peanuts. Tastes like peanut butter, but a funky chalky texture. Needs mixing, but is pretty good.

My wife puts my protein powder on her oatmeal. I can't abide by oatmeal, but it's totally doable. Also, I'd like to *think* that optimum nutrition is a higher quality powdered product than Carnation.

I do that with my oatmeal too.

If you're looking for protein shakes, and not just "meal replacement" shakes, that opens up a lot more possibilities, OP. Vitamin Shoppe's brand, BodyTech, tastes pretty good and is made with whey protein. You can often find deals which makes them more cost effective.

Body Fortress at Walmart is a good cheap alternative. It's not the highest quality, and it has a few fillers, but it's hard to beat the price and it's pretty tasty.

I have a tub of NOW Whey protein- organic. Haven't opened it.

Well, Snuggles, what would you call a meal replacement?

Protein powder plus milk would kinda have me good to go for hours. What more can you get from it?
